> I really like the checkerboard ground. It helps add some depth to the piece and has a pleasing color palette.
> For a winter piece, the flowers kind of confused me. They don't seem like typical winter flowers.
> The Hatter has an interesting pose, he's definitely friendly though. Well, I'd assume, but knowing the Hatter...
> Who is the woman and why is she relevant to the Hatter coming? She's not really interacting with him or even noticing him.
> The blue light is my least favorite thing about this piece. It's a bit too bright and harsh for the setting, but not in a Underland kind of way. It kind of looks like an old TV screen.
> Personally, the coming of the hatter I would have made a more subtle appearance as Underland was never 100% real or fake, it sort of blurred Alice's lines between the two. It could maybe be leaking out flowers of spring themed things from Underland, bringing them into... Wherever we are.
> Blue is somewhat overused, while it makes it colder it just doesn't seem to work that well with the theme. I'd suggest adding pale purples or very light/white blue tones, something a bit more icy to make it feel more like winter. I'm not sure though, I think there are better ways.
> My attention when I look at this piece is directed straight into the crotch of the Hatter. The light is coming from his rear and sort of enfolding him, but it all centers down in his lower half. I would place it on the horizon line and sort of emit around him or from behind his head in a sort of whimsical halo of sorts. I think it could stand to be a bit softer, like I mentioned above, it's really bright.
> I really like the deadish tree with the ivy. It really says winter to me because that stuff just doesn't die. but the tree sort of loses it's life and brightness.

I'm still really curious who the woman is and why she is there, but not in a good way. The title is about the Hatter, but he is one of the last things I saw, excluding his crotch. The woman is just in such fine detail and so large that it's hard to not focus on her.
